Hailing from Iceland, Power Paladin crashed onto the scene with their debut, "With The Magic Of Windfyre Steel". Now, the six-piece outfit returns with their sophomore album, "Beyond The Reach Of Enchantment". This band consists of Atli Guðlaugsson on vocals, guitarists Bjarni Þór Jóhannsson and Ingi Þórisson, drummer Einar Karl Júlíusson, keyboardist Bjarni Egill Ögmundsson, and bassist Kristleifur Þorsteinsson. The boys deliver eight new tracks steeped in heavy riffing, soaring vocals, and massive symphonic elements. They bring a huge dose of fantasy-driven metal straight to the listener.

The sound quality on "Beyond The Reach Of Enchantment" kicks ass. Mixed by Haukur Hannes and mastered by Frank De Jong, the audio bursts through the speakers with immense power. The guitars sound massive, the bass rumbles in the background, and the drums pound with relentless speed. The keyboards provide a huge layer of epic atmosphere. Atli Guðlaugsson delivers piercing high notes and aggressive mid-range vocals, matching the intense music behind him.

Power Paladin channels massive heavy metal energy. Galloping rhythms and twin-guitar harmonies dominate the songs. The band injects a wild, mythical force into the music. "The Arcane Tower" brings in a killer guest appearance by Tommy Johansson, adding an extra layer of shredding magic. The speed metal attacks combine easily with huge, singalong choruses designed for raising fists in the air at a live gig. The Icelandic musicians throw down serious riffs and vocal hooks.

The lyrics focus heavily on epic quests and fantasy worlds. James Child provided the killer cover artwork, visually matching the mythical stories told in the music. The guitar work from Bjarni Þór Jóhannsson and Ingi Þórisson delivers fast alternate picking, sweeping solos, and massive power chords. Songs like "Glade Lords Of Athel Loren" and "Camelot Rock City" supply epic storytelling alongside face-melting musicianship. Einar Karl Júlíusson and Kristleifur Þorsteinsson pound away on the rhythm section, propelling the music at maximum speed.

"Beyond The Reach Of Enchantment" completely rules. Power Paladin delivered a massive follow-up to their debut, packing every minute with intense metal anthems. The huge choruses, shredding guitars, and soaring vocals make this an absolute triumph to blast at maximum volume. The Icelandic crew forged a genuine power metal gem that demands attention. "Valediction" closes the album with a colossal, epic bang. I missed such great, powerful anthemic metal with heavy riffs, and solos like the old days.

Score: 9.0
