Without Mercy formed in 2007 when Alex Friis, DJ Temple, Ryan Loewen, and Matt Helie set out to forge an aggressive style of extreme metal blending crushing groove rhythms with technical death metal precision. For nearly two decades, the Vancouver, British Columbia based crew has built a relentless reputation independently, grinding through the Canadian underground and sharing stages with heavyweights like Cattle Decapitation, Death Angel, and Satyricon. After making waves with recordings like "Mouichido" and "Seismic", the four-piece built their own headquarters to survive post pandemic stalls and uprooted themselves to track new material under total isolation.

The resulting output is "Infinite Loss", a three track assault that zeroes in on a choking atmosphere of mechanical hostility. Musically, the band leans heavily into calculated syncopation and technical restraint, letting rhythmic patterns lock in to create a claustrophobic pressure. The title track "Infinite Loss" sets a harsh blueprint, grinding down the listener with mechanical precision and an uncompromisingly dark undercurrent before unleashing a technical guitar solo. "The Saint" acts as the most unpredictable track of the batch, shifting into unexpected dynamics and utilizing spatial arrangements that permit an uncomfortable tension to hang in the air before diving back into brutal, jackhammering grooves. Finally, "Glass" brings the EP to a close by tightening the screws even further, relying on interlocking, technical riffs inspired by death metal precision that build up intense pressure before opening up into a final, massive closing passage.
