Germany’s Spitfire formed in 2014, and they have been a reliable source of speed and thrash metal ever since. The squad consisting of R. Motörizer on vocals and guitar, D. Bolz on guitar, S. Moch on bass, and Thunder Manne behind the drum kit has built a reputation for delivering fast, intense, and aggressive metal. Through their journey, they have consistently unleashed heavy material, staying dedicated to the underground scene and keeping the old-school metal flame burning hot.

Spitfire drops their fifth release, and it strikes hard. "Devour The Light" is a short, sharp blast that drags the listener into the deepest black of the universe. The band serves up speed and melodic power, ensuring that the aggression never dips. They offer a couple of brand new tracks alongside a updated, aggressive rendition of "Spitfire's Down" from their 2014 debut EP, plus a speeding cover of Motörhead's "Bomber".

The title track "Devour The Light" kicks off the attack with intense riffs, perfectly matching the cosmic darkness illustrated on the cover.jpg artwork by Janosch Rudigier. The sonic onslaught continues into "Disregard", a track full of savage vocal delivery and relentless drumming. Luke Becker and Phil Schimpgen handled the mixing and mastering, creating an audio profile that balances raw power with clear instrument separation, avoiding any overproduced traps. The bass lines from S. Moch lock in perfectly with Thunder Manne's drumming, giving R. Motörizer and D. Bolz free rein to unleash severe riffs.

This release is a short, rapid-fire assault. It does not waste time. The new version of "Spitfire's Down" injects modern venom into their older material, and the tribute to Motörhead closes the release with total authority. Spitfire attacks with speed, leaving no space for filler.
