Aseptic is a death metal duo from San Jose, California, formed in 2014. Philip Cortez handles guitar and vocals, with Luis Guardado on drums. Their sound is built on primitive death metal force, harsh riffing, guttural vocals, and drumming that stays violent without dressing the music up for anyone.
"Deranged Disturbance" is a blunt death metal release with chainsaw guitar work, nasty vocal delivery, and a savage drum attack. Aseptic sounds focused and the result is a release that has real force, especially when the riffs lock into their more vicious patterns and the vocals sink deeper into filth. It is feral, rough, and straight to the bone album with a rotten grin, and let the damage speaks for itself.
That said, "Deranged Disturbance" is not some elite level death metal monster. Some sections start to blur together, and the songwriting could use more variation in pacing and riff identity. The aggression is there, the sound is mean, the performances are committed, and the album does its job, although a few more memorable turns would have raised it higher. As a full release, "Deranged Disturbance" is a good death metal album with a nasty attitude and enough violence to satisfy anyone who wants the genre rough and primitive. It has flaws, mainly in variety, still Aseptic delivers a strong return that deserves respect.
