Formed in 2005 in Medellín, Colombia, Warthrash spent their early years rooted in thrash metal before expanding their sound into death metal without abandoning speed or aggression. Across demos, an EP, and live appearances, the band gradually shaped a style influenced by names such as Death, Morbid Angel, Entombed and Dismember. Instead of chasing technical excess or extreme experimentation, Warthrash has focused on writing aggressive songs built around memorable riffs, fast tempos and a dark atmosphere. Their second full length, "No Light Shall Remain", arrives through Awakening Records after years of refining that formula.

The current lineup of Caronte on drums and vocals, Nosferatu on guitars, Silent on bass and Merciless on lead guitar shares songwriting duties, giving the material enough variation while staying focused on one direction. The addition of a second guitarist has expanded the band's approach, bringing more layered guitar work and stronger melodic interaction without moving away from the raw attack that has defined Warthrash since the beginning. After more than two decades together, they come across as a band interested in writing memorable extreme metal instead of filling albums with unnecessary ideas or endless displays of technical skill.

Recorded and mastered at Area 51 Studios in Medellín, "No Light Shall Remain" presents eleven songs built on a blend of old school death metal and thrash. The production leaves enough grit around the guitars and drums, giving the music an organic character instead of sanding every edge smooth. Felipe Mora's artwork reflects the bleak direction of the album, while the lyrics revolve around corruption, domination, destruction, inner conflict and human decline without following a single concept.

Warthrash relies on fast riffing for most of the running time, mixing blast beats with galloping rhythms and measured tempo changes that stop the material from becoming one paced. Songs such as "Culebras Sin Honor" and "Oscura Condena" attack with speed and aggression, while "Undefeated" and "Hand Of Doom" introduce more epic rhythmic ideas, with the latter recalling the classic style of Infernal Majesty. The guitars remain the biggest attraction throughout the album, shifting between sharp thrash driven riffs and heavier death metal passages without sounding disconnected.

The vocal performance stays deep and commanding while the rhythm section also deserves recognition for maintaining intensity through constant tempo changes while locking into the guitar work with precision. Some sections follow familiar patterns and a few songs could have benefited from more distinctive hooks, since several riffs share a similar approach across the album. Even with that limitation, the songwriting rarely loses momentum because the band knows when to switch pace and introduce a different rhythmic pattern before ideas become repetitive.

Warthrash never waste time on unnecessary embellishments, choosing straightforward songwriting that puts riff quality above everything else. That decision pays off through most of the album, especially during the second half where the arrangements gain more depth and the guitar interplay becomes more engaging. "No Light Shall Remain" succeeds because it sticks to what Warthrash does best, fast, aggressive death and thrash metal built around convincing riffs, strong performances and an honest underground spirit. It is an album that rewards repeated listens, revealing more details in the guitar work while maintaining the same intensity every time it spins.
