Formed on Norway’s western coast around vocalist Terje Singh Sidhu, Sinsid have spent fourteen years building traditional heavy metal around soaring melodies, martial rhythms and a stern vocal presence. The current lineup places Sidhu beside guitarists Erik Westerlund and Jostein Marø, bassist Grzegorz Urbanski and drummer Trygve Andre Tvedt. Their history includes three earlier albums, with 2022’s “In Victory” attracting wider attention across the international metal press, followed by two singles in 2024.
“All That Remains”, the band’s fourth full length, follows the path established through those releases and extensive live work. Classic European heavy metal remains the core, reinforced by heroic choruses, darker edges and frequent bursts of speed that stop the material becoming an endless procession of mid paced marches. The influences are easy to trace, though Sidhu’s distinctive voice and the band’s Norwegian character prevent Sinsid from becoming another anonymous traditional metal act.
“All That Remains” opens with its title song and establishes the central palette immediately. Melodic twin guitar lines, galloping rhythms, a firm low end and dominant vocals shape the album. The riffs stay compact and the choruses arrive quickly; the songs do not all collapse into the same chant. “Sarcophagus” introduces greater speed and a sinister shade, while “Somewhere In The Dark” leans toward the melodic side of classic heavy metal. These contrasts give the sequencing shape, and the album remains coherent. Sidhu’s voice is the decisive feature, emotional and imposing, occasionally narrowing the melodic range when certain choruses need more variation.
Several chord changes and refrains also follow expected routes, particularly through the middle stretch, where the writing becomes predictable. The guitar work answers with fluid leads, sturdy rhythm playing and carefully placed harmonies. Mixed and mastered at Green Engine Recording by Tom Poole Kerr, the production separates the two guitars, bass, drums and backing vocals while retaining a metallic edge. The snare has impact, the bass remains present beneath the riffs, and the lead guitar enters with enough definition to matter.
Even Håvold and Sten Roger Knutsen contribute guitars to “Sarcophagus” and “Time Is Ticking”, with backing vocals supplied by Håvold, Robin Wick, Ivar Birkeland and Westerlund. Andy Pilkington handles the artwork, and the CD edition includes two exclusive bonus tracks alongside the standard LP and digital versions. The result is a focused fourth album with strong hooks, committed performances and a few overly expected turns. It is sturdy traditional heavy metal built for raised fists and crowded stages, powered by solid songwriting and a firm production.
