Til The End is an international melodic death metal band made up of Antony Hämäläinen on melodic and extreme vocals, Kostas Sotos on lead, rhythm and acoustic guitar, Nic Svensson on rhythm guitar, bass and backing vocals, and Márton Veress on drums and percussion. Its multinational construction brings musicians from different corners of the metal circuit into one lineup, with the music rooted in the melodic death metal tradition.
Hämäläinen provides the contrast at the front, moving from guttural attacks to melodic singing. Sotos takes the central guitar role, Svensson links rhythm guitar and bass under one production approach, and Veress supplies rapid patterns, double kick momentum and heavier accents. The members divide the core duties with little overlap at the front, leaving vocal contrast and guitar melody as the defining traits. Songwriting is credited jointly to Sotos and Hämäläinen, which explains the close bond between vocal hooks and guitar lines. This self titled release is the band’s first full length album, using classic riff, chorus and solo mechanics as its main language.
Produced, mixed and mastered by Nic Svensson at Swede Studios, with Dominik Janny assisting during drum tracking, "Til The End" runs for about forty four minutes and places layered riffs, sustained leads and frequent solos at the front. The final sound separates rhythm guitar, bass, drums and lead work with enough definition for the quicker changes to register, the kick drums retain impact beneath the melodies, and the bass has less individual character beside the guitars. Melody governs the writing, giving "Dismal Paradise" its arabesque coloring and "These Little Voices" a broad communal chorus made for raised fists at a live show, with neither approach pulling the album away from its central style.
Melodic singing on "Awakening" and "Hybrid Fragments" widens Hämäläinen’s range. Those groove oriented choruses approach contemporary mainstream metal and soften the death metal edge, though his extreme voice restores the aggression elsewhere. The rhythm section maintains a firm pulse under the solo traffic, and the arrangements shift tempo often enough to stop the mid paced material from settling into one pattern across the album’s longer songs.
Once the central melody arrives, several songs follow an expected verse, chorus and lead break route, so surprise fades during the second half and some hooks arrive earlier than the arrangement needs them. The abundance of solos also becomes excessive at points; fine playing does not make every lead essential, and a few sections could lose a minute with no damage to their melodic impact. "Til The End" is a sturdy, guitar centered debut with strong melodies, varied vocals and professional production, held below the top tier by safe structures, limited bass presence and surplus soloing.
