Teratum is a Swedish black thrash metal band formed in 2024 from the remains of Beastiality, following that band’s end. Based in Stockholm and Uppsala, the quartet features DTH on drums and vocals, PWL on vocals and bass, and DMH on vocals and guitar, with the lineup completed by their second guitarist. Their first appearance came through a two song promo tape in 2025, setting up the arrival of “Ordnance Of Spiritual Warfare” as their first widely available release.
The band works within an old school strain of extreme metal where black metal atmosphere meets violent thrashing, with the Swedish scene providing the geographical backdrop. Their listed inspirations include Nifelheim, Desaster, Zemial, Morbid and Poison, which places Teratum within a recognisable underground tradition, though the music here takes a more shadowed route than straightforward black thrash. Artwork comes from Mørkestøl.
“Ordnance Of Spiritual Warfare” contains four songs and runs for around twenty one minutes, keeping the presentation compact and focused. The production has an underground sound, with the guitars dominating the mix, the bass supporting the riffs and the drums maintaining the rapid pace. Vocals are shared within the lineup, adding variation to the delivery, while the guitar leads introduce eerie melodies that deepen the black metal side of the music. The songwriting moves between fast thrashing attacks and slower sections with a darker, almost ritualistic atmosphere.
there is enough variation in tempo, guitar work and vocal delivery to make the mini album more than a basic black-thrash exercise. “Ordnance Of Spiritual Warfare” is a focused introduction to Teratum, with four compact songs that combine Swedish black metal atmosphere and old school thrashing into a dark, aggressive package.
