Xion formed in 2022 in Falun, the same Swedish town that gave us Sabaton, Brothers Of Metal and Twilight Force, when some members were under eighteen. The quintet of Robin Björk on vocals, Erik Zetterström and Liam Rådman on guitars, Johan Berg on bass and Algot Brask on drums won the “Imagine Sweden” competition in 2023, then put out the debut “Between Shadows And Gods” in January 2024 with Johan Reivén (Ram, Hostilia) at the desk. Support slots for In Flames and the Gene Simmons Band at Dalhalla Arena followed, along with Gefle Metal, Sweden Rock Festival and the Sabaton Cruise. The single “Wasteland Of Time”, out in June 2025, landed them the deal with Fireflash Records.

“When Stars Collide” is Xion's second album, with eight tracks in forty minutes, produced by Jonas Arnberg (Methane, Demonical etc). Speed and thrash metal melt into one, and the playing comes precise, fast and relentless, with Björk out front, the guitars pushing every riff forward and Berg/Brask duo locking the rhythm section in place. The writing matches that energy with surprises in the structure and anthems made to be shouted. Opening with “Hands Will Be Cut” and “Burned Onto You” takes nerve in this style, and closing on “Zero Light” sends the album out at full speed, so the sequence plays as one run, not eight separate shots. A strong second album and a step up from the debut.
