Agregator is a Hungarian melodic death metal band whose music combines dark melodies, heavy guitar work and lyrics in their native language. The lineup features Mikus Tamás on vocals, Horváth Attila on guitar and vocals, Katona Rajmund on guitar, Lázár Bálint on bass and vocals, and Kun József on drums. Following a lineup change in 2024, the band returns with “Elízium”, a four track EP preceding their planned full length album “Por És Hamu”. Their approach draws on the darker side of melodic death metal, with gothic influences and a lyrical perspective rooted in personal conflict. Hungarian lyrics give the material a strong regional character, while the musical direction places Agregator within a tradition of sombre, melody driven metal.

“Elízium” takes the ancient Greek concept of Elysium, traditionally associated with a peaceful afterlife, and turns it into a setting of decay, temptation and inner struggle. The four tracks explore loss, memory and personal demons through melodic guitar lines, dark atmospheres and a steady rhythm section. The production, handled by Botlik Mátyás at Grenma Stúdió, supports the guitar work and vocals without stripping the music of its darker tone. The title track establishes the EP’s central atmosphere, while “A Tizenhármas Ajtó” and “Súgd Meg” continue through sombre melodies and familiar melodic death metal structures.

“Hamu”, presented in its 2026 version, closes the release with a connection to the band’s existing material. The songwriting remains rooted in established genre patterns, and the short running time leaves limited opportunity for the individual tracks to develop beyond their main ideas. “Elízium” is a competent release with a coherent lyrical concept and a suitably dark musical direction, although its songwriting rarely moves beyond the conventions of melodic death metal.
