Northern Krig started spreading their sickness around 2021, dropping a single, an EP, a split, and their debut album "Concept Of A Suicidal Journey" before arriving at this current point. Coming straight out of Norway, the trio consists of Morfran handling the guitars and vocals, Miasma taking on extra guitar duties and bass, and Maikon Q behind the drum kit. For their new release, "Worship Files For Anthropophagolagnia Predators", they brought in Koldbrynger from Germany for some guest vocal destruction. The band has been busy building up their arsenal, keeping things strictly underground and entirely focused on pure black metal.
"Worship Files For Anthropophagolagnia Predators" delivers a relentless barrage of freezing riffs and blasting drums. The music stays true to the grim traditions of the underground. Tremolo picking dominates the guitar work, creating a chilling atmosphere. The drumming crashes and thuds fiercely in the background, keeping the momentum going. Morfran tears his vocal cords apart with total aggression. The addition of Koldbrynger brings extra sickness to the vocal lines. The riffs are cold and violent, cutting right through the speakers.
The self-recorded production keeps the music harsh and unyielding. Jan Reichel mixed the tracks, and Totenklang Records handled the mastering. They kept the sound appropriately dirty and garage-level, avoiding modern studio tricks. The bass rumbles low beneath the buzzing guitars, adding extra darkness to the mix. The audio quality matches the vicious themes of the album. You get a genuine underground sound here. Everything stays rough around the edges, entirely suitable for this style of extreme music.
This release is a cool addition to any blackster’s collection. "Worship Files For Anthropophagolagnia Predators" provides a satisfying dose of northern darkness. Northern Krig stick to their guns and deliver furious, hateful black metal. The songs rip fast and leave a path of destruction. The entire experience satisfies the craving for old-school evil.
