Hailing from the UK and forming almost ten years ago, Blood Countess channels the freezing black metal of the late nineties. They unleashed their first album "Occulta Tenebris" four years ago. Now they drop their second album, "Imperatrix Sanguinis", on Dominance Of Darkness Records. This new assault focuses strictly on the sick, blood-drenched history of Elizabeth Bathory.

The music attacks fast and mercilessly. Guitars throw a furious storm of freezing riffs over totally destructive drumming. Frontwoman The Cuntess screams out tales of murder, sex, and perversion with absolute hatred for mankind. Blood Countess simply rips through the speakers and shreds your ears. Metalheads into classic Enthroned, Lord Belial, and Thy Primordial will totally devour this freezing madness.

These guys alter their attack speed continuously. They blast through extremely fast sections and then drag you down into freezing, haunting darkness. "Anna Nádasdy" finishes the album by slowing the music into a miserable, freezing crawl. The songs trap you inside a cold nightmare of death. The guitar work brings total devastation everywhere, ripping heads off with pure aggression.

"Imperatrix Sanguinis" brings pure nineties black metal violence. The band offers raw hatred and fast, freezing riffs. It is a vicious, merciless release that destroys a lot in its path. Blood Countess simply delivers straight-up savagery and darkness, giving you the extreme metal violence you crave.

Score: 8.3
