France's Alkhemia unleashed their debut "Abraxas" two years ago and immediately hit the road to bleed on stages across Europe. Sharing the stage with veterans like Necrophobic, Tsjuder, and Ancient for over seventy gigs gave them serious live ammunition. Playing festivals like Cosmic Void and Dark Troll Fest proved they can summon hell in a live setting. Now they drop "Häxen", a forty-three-minute second album via Non Serviam Records.
This album rips through the speakers with a storm of freezing riffs and furious percussion. The guitars carve out massive melodies, backed by a relentless battery of blast beats. Alkhemia steers into epic territories, expanding the sonic destruction into a vast landscape. The production serves the riffs properly, letting the harsh vocals tear straight into your skull. The entire band fires on all cylinders, throwing down an absolute blizzard of speed and frost.
James Spar shreds the eardrums, operating entirely in the red zone with his vicious vocal delivery. Leprince and Thomas Fontaine handle the strings, weaving freezing tremolo lines together into an absolute onslaught. The rhythm section, driven by A.S.A on bass and Alex Josien behind the kit, anchors the madness. Alkhemia channels pure black metal energy, firing off grim melodies and blast beats in equal measure to keep the assault constantly moving forward. This sophomore album packs serious fire. Alkhemia delivers a massive strike to the skull. "Häxen" brings the riffs, the speed, and the atmosphere a true black metal maniac demands. Play this at maximum volume.
