Costa Rica spawned Candarian in 2020. Christopher on guitar and Jose Pablo handling bass and vocals started playing together to rip out old-school death metal inspired by sickos like Autopsy and Incantation. Pablo jumped on drums and Felipe grabbed the second guitar to complete the lineup. The dudes dropped their demo "Stagnant Livor Mortis" in 2022 through Me Saco Un Ojo Records. Now they are unleashing their debut full-length album, "Trepanación", with Memento Mori dropping the CD and Me Saco Un Ojo Records handling the vinyl and cassette versions.

"Trepanación" brings pure rotting decay straight to your speakers. The band delivers unrelenting sonic violence. Guttural, rotting vocals vomit out horrific lyrics over massively distorted guitars. Grant Hatfield provided the perfect grisly cover art for this release. You get an authentic, headbanging death metal massacre. The production keeps the dirt totally intact.

The riffs churn with a massive, doomed-out sickness. Candarian locks into mid-paced grooves before tearing into absolute speed. The bass rumbles deep down in the basement of the mix, adding severe thickness to the low end. The drumming blasts and pounds relentlessly. The vocals stay buried and monstrous. The music unleashes pure horror.

Wild tremolo picking and sick guitar solos tear through the distortion. The guys deliver crushing double-kick patterns during the faster sections. The songs blast through their runtime, focused heavily on total death metal destruction. A malignant, odious atmosphere surrounds the entire listening experience. The Costa Ricans deliver a putrid soundscape of terror. Every riff reeks of pure rot.
