Hypostasis hail from the metal scene in Athens. They started dropping their progressive metal sounds back in 2016 with a self-produced EP. Back then, they shared stages across the local underground with acts like Mad John The Wise, Kosmogonia, and Spit The Blood. Following a long hiatus to write new music, the guys returned to the frontlines to drop their first full-length album, "Birth Of A Mask". It took them years to put this beast together, marking a huge step forward for the musicians. They are hitting the stage again to blast these fresh songs to the masses.
"Birth Of A Mask" rips right into the darkest corners of human misery and mental trauma. The lyrics and the instrumentation bleed into each other, following a solitary character stumbling through a broken reality. The entire journey drags you through heavy despair, fleeting hope, and screaming internal voices. Hypostasis map out this emotional damage by twisting crazy rhythms and colossal melodic hooks. They weave insane technical musicianship with huge atmospheric sections, giving the story a huge sonic playground to explode across the speakers.

Konrad anchors the low end on the bass guitar while Eridanus absolutely destroys the drum kit with precise, shifting beats. The music throws influences from giants like Pain Of Salvation, Communic, Symphony X, and The Shadow Theory right in your face. Hypostasis channel those legendary vibes and forge their own unique, progressive identity.
The vocal performances turn the album into an absolute powerhouse of emotion and aggression. Romanos Alexander delivers huge singing parts that range from fragile whispers to tearing screams. The addition of guest vocalists Agis Kontos, Penthesilea Kavallieratou, Eirini Mantopoulou, and Chrysanthi Provata adds awesome layers to the vocal attack. Tracks like "Remains Of Me", "The Craving", and "Where Bridges Burn" deliver huge choruses that stay stuck in your head for days. The production by Konrad Kavallieratos sounds incredibly heavy, giving every single instrument maximum volume to crash through the stereo.
Hypostasis deliver an incredible progressive metal journey that demands absolute attention.
