Multiwomb spawned in the Indonesian extreme metal underground as a three-man wrecking crew dedicated to pure sonic violence. Gus Donald provides the sick vocal attack, Bintang handles the heavy guitar and bass duties, and Rama absolutely destroys the drum kit. They signed with the Grave Island label to drop their debut full-length album, "Anatomy Of Gorelust". This release packs nine tracks of extremely fast brutal death metal into a relentless twenty-six minutes of non-stop blasting.
The instrumentation on "Anatomy Of Gorelust" focuses entirely on extreme speed. Bintang delivers rapidly descending riff structures alongside insanely heavy, chugging bass lines. Rama supports this assault with constant blast beats, double bass rolling, and massive cymbal work. Over this musical barrage, Gus Donald unleashes extremely deep gutturals and low-end growls typical of the brutal death metal subgenre. The trio sticks to a straightforward formula of hyper-fast sections alternating with massive, headbanging breakdowns.
The visual representation of this album comes from legendary artist Jon Zig. He provided the disgusting, gore-soaked cover art, heavily displaying the visual identity associated with the extreme metal scene. For the audio production, Multiwomb tracked vocals, guitars, and bass at Nada Rakta Chamber, and they tracked drums at Volcanic Studio. The final mixing and mastering happened at Ultra Organic Studio. The resulting audio combines an aggressive edge with excellent instrument separation. You can hear every snare strike and vocal line easily.
"Anatomy Of Gorelust" explores anatomical obsession and grotesque imagery in its lyrics. The song titles describe surgical operations, bodily dismemberment, and twisted medical procedures. Multiwomb focuses on these gruesome topics completely. The morbid subject matter perfectly matches the unrelenting speed and aggression of the music. The trio maintains a serious, brutal approach to these extreme topics throughout the entire twenty-six minutes.
This album brings what any extreme metal fan wants. Multiwomb delivers fast riffs, crushing drums, and completely disgusting vocals. "Anatomy Of Gorelust" is a highly competent debut from a promising Indonesian trio. The band achieves their goal of playing straightforward brutal death metal. It is a satisfying twenty-six minutes of intense sonic violence.
