Aria Blake is an international symphonic metal band formed by musicians from France and Canada. The lineup consists of Tanya on vocals, Eric on drums, Pierrot on guitars, and Vincent on bass. Eric started the project envisioning a cinematic musical journey inspired by film scores and heavy metal. Tanya brings extensive opera training to the microphone. Pierrot and Vincent provide the heavy string foundation. They released their debut EP "As Night Descends" as a prelude to a future full-length album titled "The Haunting Of Scarlet Falls".

Listen to this EP and you hear straight-up symphonic metal colliding with massive orchestral arrangements. Aria Blake smashes heavy metal riffs against classical strings and choir parts. The music blasts through four tracks of operatic sorrow and dark atmosphere. Fans of the genre get massive soaring vocals, thunderous drumming, and sweeping string sections. The music delivers a satisfying dose of metallic drama and sorrowful melodies.

Tanya completely dominates the microphone with immense power, drawing from her years in opera theaters. Her vocal lines soar over the thunderous riffing from Pierrot and the rumbling bass from Vincent. The EP brings in heavy hitters for extra firepower. Ambre Vourvahis from Xandria joins the title track, "As Night Descends", adding a lethal second voice to the mix. Roland Grapow from Masterplan shreds a massive solo on "Stabat Mater Dolorosa". These guest appearances add serious firepower to the overall package.

Eric drives the entire machine from behind the drum kit. He writes the cinematic orchestrations, leaning heavily on his film score influences. The lyrical themes cover night, faith, and inner transformation. The guitars chug along with the huge symphonic parts, and the orchestration dominates the soundscape completely.

"As Night Descends" gives symphonic metal heads a great reason to pay attention to Aria Blake. The four tracks pack enough melodic hooks and heavy drumming to keep heads banging. The band delivers dark, elegant metal with serious classical chops. The upcoming album "The Haunting Of Scarlet Falls" has a strong foundation to build upon. This EP is a cool, entertaining ride for anyone craving symphonic darkness.
