Formed back in the tail end of 2022, Negaatio quickly smashed their way into the extreme music scene. The Tampere crew built their name on raw stage energy and confronting completely horrific subjects head-on. Sweeping up a bronze at the regional Emergenza 2025 finals proved they had serious fire burning in their amps. Now, they are dropping their first full-length, "Mieleni Murtama", via Inverse Records, bringing that stage aggression straight to the studio.

The music on "Mieleni Murtama" runs entirely on pure rage and relentless riffing. Guitars from Eero Jaakkola and Juhani Aalto deliver heavy playing that actively tries to snap your neck. The rhythm section of Petrus Markkinen and Waltteri Santala constantly batters the skull with hammering beats and pounding bass lines. Up front, Jani Myllylä screams out vocals detailing absolute hopelessness and severe mental destruction. It is a completely enraged sound designed for maximum destruction in a live pit.

Songs like "Mania" and "Kuori" deliver furious hooks and total aggression. The band simply keeps their heads down and thrashes away with complete disregard for safety. Sometimes the tracks start blending into one another because the speed and anger rarely shift gears. A little more variation in the songwriting could elevate the entire album to a higher tier. Regardless, the furious assault provides a totally satisfying headbanging session.

Pauli Mänty handled the mixing and mastering duties, ensuring the audio destroys speakers appropriately. The guitars sound vicious and the drums rattle right in your brain, while the vocals slice straight through the center of the mix. Eero Jaakkola tracked the sessions, capturing the frantic energy of a band completely losing their minds in the studio. You hear every single crash and scream loudly, leaving zero questions about their furious intentions.

Negaatio dropped a thoroughly brutal and angry full-length with "Mieleni Murtama". It brings plenty of savage moments and aggressive riffs for anyone craving pure Finnish destruction. They have plenty of room to grow and expand their songwriting on future releases. For now, this album successfully caves in heads and demands to be played at maximum volume.

Score: 7.0
