Formed in 2024, Riverflame unites members from Hail Spirit Noir, Ponte Del Diavolo, and Owls. After two years of intensive writing and recording, they drop their debut album, "Lunar Crusades". This project dives straight into epic medieval black metal fused with neoclassical arrangements. Taking cues from old-school giants like Stormkeep, Summoning, and Dissection, they deliver a cinematic assault dripping with grandeur, darkness, and heroism.
The guitar work and synths laid down by Haris weave a majestic tapestry of medieval frost. The riffs are relentless and soaring, locking perfectly with massive symphonic layers. Dimitris Douvras kept the production fierce and enormous, preserving the raw intensity of the instruments. Every blast beat from Hakon Freyr Gustafsson shatters the silence, driving the songs forward with absolute ruin. Abro’s bass lines anchor the bottom end, turning the music into a massive groove of destruction.
Romain Nobileau unleashes vocal terror over the neoclassical madness. His screams tear through the mix with absolute savagery. The vocal performance adds a layer of freezing dread to the epic instrumentation. The songs sweep across massive battlefields of sound, drenching the listener in grim medieval warfare. The band attacks the music with an arrogant sneer and an iron fist.
The cover painting by Mars Triumph visually unleashes the devastation found on the audio tracks. Riverflame builds immense landscapes of sound across the runtime. The song "Where Dragons Once Ruled" erupts with massive force alongside the epic title track "Lunar Crusades". They blast the listener with monumental riffing and soaring symphonies. The entire album operates as a warlike campaign against the modern world.
"Lunar Crusades" delivers premium symphonic darkness straight to your skull. Riverflame constructs an immense debut packed with fierce musicianship and massive atmospheres. They crush the listener with pure medieval devastation. This is high-tier black metal mastery designed to conquer the scene.
