Formed in July 2020 in Lombardy, Italy, Urluk took their name from a local nocturnal bird of prey. The core duo, M. on drums and vocals alongside U. handling guitars and bass, established a stable foundation from day one. They dropped their debut EP, "Loss", in 2022, diving straight into themes of human vulnerability. The following year saw the release of their first full-length, "More", expanding their black metal and doom origins with folk elements.
Dropping via Pest Records, the second full-length, "Memories In Fade", pushes their grim foundation into new territories. The duo injects heavy doses of ’90s alternative rock, ambient sounds, and neo-folk into the core framework. Song structures ignore standard pop formats entirely. The music focuses on vast storytelling, creating a cohesive narrative across the entire runtime.
Vocally, the music shifts between harsh, throat-shredding screams and melodic singing. The guitar work follows the same dynamic path, transitioning from miserable doom chords to freezing tremolo picking.
