Whirlwind started as a studio project masterminded by Mark Wild, known for his work in Körgull The Exterminator. He wanted to play the classic heavy metal that ruled his youth, channeling legendary German acts like early Running Wild, Grave Digger, and Accept, alongside giants like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Fast forward to 2022, and the project exploded into a real band with the launch of their debut album, "1714". They recruited full-time members, including musicians from Redshark, and started tearing up stages at underground Spanish festivals like Pounding Metal Fest. Now, they are back with their sophomore strike.

Dying Victims Productions unleashes the highly anticipated follow-up, "1640". Keeping the historical firepower going, this new onslaught deals with the Thirty Years War across Europe and internal Spanish battles. It is a massive history lesson delivered through ripping twin guitars and high-octane vocals. The subject matter aligns perfectly with the aggressive music. War and steel demand a savage soundtrack, and Whirlwind provides the required firepower.

Musically, Whirlwind unleashes a storm of classic Teutonic metal. The riffs and leads form a lethal tandem, bringing immense energy to the forefront. Fans get massive mid-tempo stompers crashing into fast-paced galloping attacks. Artur Julió and Mark Wild trade fiery guitar parts and lay down infectious rhythms. Jordi Julió on drums and Philip Graves on bass keep the foundation strong. Héctor Llauradó dominates the microphone with total power. Every member fires on all cylinders.

The sound on "1640" honors the glory days of the mid-1980s. It contains an authentic underground spirit mixed with huge execution. You hear the dirt in the guitar tone, and the drums crash like actual cannons firing on the battlefield. The entire mix drips with heavy metal attitude. This is true music for true metal maniacs. No wimping out, no fake studio tricks, just screaming amps and pounding drums. It sounds aggressive, real, and totally lethal.

Whirlwind marches to total victory with this second release. They throw down pure riff-driven madness, securing their spot in the heavy metal underground. "1640" guarantees serious headbanging trauma by delivering fast, aggressive, and traditional metal without any compromises. This album totally rules.
