After spending years battling through lineup troubles, canceled plans and the general mess that hit the live scene after 2020, Lost Legacy return with “In The Name Of Freedom”, an album that pushes their classic American power metal style back into action with plenty of fire. Coming out of New York, the band has always leaned toward the heavier side of the genre, taking influence from names like Metal Church and Fates Warning while mixing melody, sharp riffing and a strong old-school spirit. After the bad timing surrounding the original release period, this album now lands like a second shot for the band to remind people they are still in the fight.

“In The Name Of Freedom” sticks closely to the roots of American power metal. The guitars attack with force, the rhythms push hard and the melodies stay right in your head after the songs end. Lost Legacy avoids drowning the album in speed for the sake of speed. The music stays

focused on strong songwriting, big choruses and heavy metal attitude. There is a clear connection to late 80s and early 90s US metal, though the production gives everything enough power to avoid sounding dated.

Vocally, the album brings the kind of energy this style needs. The singing reaches for the dramatic side of power metal without drifting into parody, and the vocal lines fit naturally with the aggressive guitar work. The riffs are one of the album’s strongest points, mixing crunchy heavy metal drive with melodic leads that add color without softening the attack. The rhythm section also pushes hard through the album and helps the songs stay energetic even during the longer arrangements.

The lyrical direction centers on freedom, struggle and survival, which fits the music well. There is an honest spirit running through the album, especially knowing the problems the band faced during the last few years. That atmosphere gives “In The Name Of Freedom” extra character. The album is not flawless, since a few sections run longer than needed and some hooks do not leave the same impact as the stronger moments. Still, Lost Legacy manages to bring enough energy and passion to stop those weaker moments from dragging the whole release down.

For fans of traditional US power metal with a heavier edge, “In The Name OfFreedom” offers a good amount of steel and melody without slipping into glossy modern tricks. Pure Steel Records made a solid choice giving this release another push, because Lost Legacy still sounds ready for battle. This is a comeback album built on perseverance, loud guitars and old-school metal spirit, and even with a few rough edges, it reminds listeners why this style still matters.
