Kybalion started in Italy as a studio project in 2022 and became a full band in 2023, a short timeline for a band already working with a defined artistic frame. Their black metal is not old-school worship and not academic posturing either. It is modern, cold, tense, and built around dissonance, noir shadows, obscure cinema, and a rotten philosophical core. The lineup of R.H. Moore, Seditio, G.F., and G. Olgen gives the project a compact shape, with vocals, bass, guitars, drums, soundscapes, and lyrics aimed at one bleak target. Their world is tied to Absurdism, Cosmic Pessimism, and Futurism, so the grotesque imagery is not decoration. It bleeds into the music. "Make The World Bleed" also uses Sascha Schneider’s 1903 artwork "The Astral Body" for its cover, a fitting image for a release obsessed with conscience, collapse, and the body as something fragile under powers it cannot master.
"Make The World Bleed" takes its conceptual spark from Friedrich Dürrenmatt’s "Der Verdacht", moving through ideas of absolute power, guilt, anxiety, moral rot, and the mental damage caused by trying to rise above human limits. Across its four cuts, Kybalion go for compressed violence: frantic riffing, blackened tension, decaying melody, sudden D-beat bursts, and soundscapes that hang over the EP like thick air. The
production is dry enough to hurt and modern enough to separate the layers, though at times the short format makes the whole experience pass too quickly, with a few ideas begging for a harsher expansion.
The vocals sit in the right place, bitter and stripped of comfort, while the guitars scrape more than they soar. The drumming adds urgency without turning the release into speed for speed’s sake. This is a strong EP, not a masterpiece, and not without limits. Some passages hit harder than others, and the brevity leaves a slightly unfinished aftertaste. No velvet, no mercy, no pretty corpse. Just black metal with a cold brain and a mean pulse.
