Die Entweihung is the solo project of Belarusian multi instrumentalist Denis Tereschenko, formed in 2007 after his relocation to northern Israel. The project began with raw black metal and gradually shifted toward a broader heavy metal approach, with progressive and thrash metal becoming increasingly important in the music. "Neverending Terrorism" from 2015 marked a major change in direction, bringing heavier songwriting and more socially disturbing lyrical subjects into the project.
"Worldwide Terror" is the twelfth full length release from Die Entweihung, following eleven albums, two EPs and a compilation issued across fifteen years. Tereschenko handles all instruments, while Alena 7, known from Nocturnal Pestilence and other extreme metal work, provides the main vocals throughout the album. Additional vocals appear on "The Darkest Morning", with session musicians contributing saxophone, violin and cello. This lineup gives the project a much wider musical palette than its early black metal material.
"Worldwide Terror" deals with human cruelty, hatred, domination, violence and the darker side of civilization, and the music follows those subjects with a restless mixture of black metal, progressive metal and thrash. The guitar work frequently changes direction, using jagged riffs, unusual melodic turns and sudden shifts that make the songs feel unpredictable without becoming completely detached from traditional metal songwriting. Alena 7 is a major presence, moving from fierce extreme vocals to more dramatic and emotional delivery when the compositions require it.
"Worldwide Terror" starts with an aggressive metallic approach, while "Newborn" uses rolling rhythms and "Eight Billion Headed Whore" brings a more melodic chorus into the album's abrasive surroundings. "Really Your Life" moves through attacking grooves before breaking into more fragmented guitar passages, adding another progressive layer to the material. The closing "The Darkest Morning" is the most emotionally charged composition, progressing through sadness, fear, confusion, anger and despair before reaching an intense final section. The production was handled by Denis Tereschenko, with mastering by Sondre Solberg at Lakeside Studio.
The sound balances rawness with enough separation for the guitars, vocals and additional instruments to remain distinguishable. The cello, violin and saxophone are used as unusual colours inside the extreme metal setting, adding a darker and more dramatic atmosphere to several moments. "Worldwide Terror" is an ambitious release with plenty of ideas packed into its songs, although its constant shifts can make some sections harder to absorb on a first listen. The result is an uncompromising blackened progressive thrash album with a bleak subject matter and a musical approach that refuses to stay in one lane.
