Neolith is a Polish death/black metal band formed in the early 1990s, with their debut album "INRI" arriving in 1998. Over more than three decades, the band has developed from their early death/doom metal roots toward a darker blend of death metal, black metal and touches of thrash. Their history includes appearances at festivals such as Metalmania and Jalometalli, tours across Europe and performances alongside names including Morbid Angel, Vader, Behemoth, Krisiun, Decapitated and Sinister. Their long career also includes work with several established Polish producers and engineers, with Haldor Grunberg handling the production of "Inbir".

"Inbir" is the sixth full length from Neolith, arriving almost seven years after "I Am The Way". The title refers to the ancient Sumerian word for war, while the lyrical material deals with power, mystery, spirituality and human fate. Musically, Neolith works with dark death/black metal built on aggressive riffing, harsh vocals and a strong sense of old school extremity, with progressive touches adding more detail to the arrangements.

The production by Neolith and Haldor Grunberg at Satanic Audio gives the album a forceful, well balanced sound, with the guitars, bass and drums retaining their presence throughout. The forty minute running time gives the material enough space to develop its ideas without stretching the experience. "Inbir" is a mature and carefully constructed release, with enough variation in its songwriting to maintain interest across the full album. It presents Neolith as an experienced act with a firmly established place within the Polish extreme metal scene.
