Watcher formed in 2023 as a one man project of singer Viktor Gustafsson, who handled everything on the debut album "Key To The Unbreachable" in 2024 and on the EP "Glory Or Agony" in early 2025. Guitarist Max Warnby and drummer Jakob Nilsson joined in late 2024, and the three released the EP "Chains Of Crystal" in spring 2025 before playing Muskelrock. Second guitarist Timmy Lindgren came aboard in late 2025, and the work on this second full length began. Warnby covers lead guitar and bass guitar, Lindgren plays lead guitar, and Gustafsson sings.

"Mistress Of Our Time" is the second full length from the band, released on CD and LP by Dying Victims Productions with artwork by Max Warnby. The sound sits in the Swedish heavy metal of Heavy Load, Gotham City, Axewitch and Torch, with early Europe, Ostrogoth, Grim Reaper and Sortilège in the mix. The debut was rough and "Chains Of Crystal" hinted at what a fuller lineup could do. This album does it, with the twin lead guitars of Warnby and Lindgren and the drums of Nilsson pushing energy to the front, hooks right behind and atmosphere trailing them.

The sound is bigger and rounder than on the debut, and Gustafsson sings the swords and sorcery lyrics with a triumphant tone. Speed is never the target, since the band stays under thrash tempo and lets the gallop do the work. Energy, hooks and atmosphere stay in line over the whole album, and the fantasy lyrics follow the same line. The ingredients are the same as on the earlier EPs, so the lane stays narrow and the pace rarely changes, which leaves few surprises. A strong second album that hits its target every time and never tries another one.
