Rising Alma is a Berlin based trio formed in 2021 with a multinational lineup. Alīse Elme from Latvia handles vocals and keyboards, Máximo Marset from Uruguay plays guitar, and Sebastian Rätz from Germany plays bass. The band put out the album “Cracking The Moment” in 2025 and returns a year later with a new release. There is no label behind it this time.
“Your Own Story” is a five track EP of around twenty minutes, released independently, and it plays melodic hard rock with an alternative rock coat. The vocal melody leads every track, the keyboards add atmosphere, and the guitars stay in support. The production is natural and puts the voice up front, which is the right call for songs built on hooks. The riffs are crunchy enough to give the rock side some presence and rarely dig in.
The structure is the weak spot. Five tracks follow a similar route of verse, build and big chorus, and after the opening title track the running order stops mattering. The longest track, “Colors Flow All Around Us”, sits in the middle at almost five minutes, and the closing “Endless” does not change the shape of what came before. As a collection it is competent and easy to play on repeat, and the alternative edge shows up mostly in the keys and atmosphere, not in the guitars. Heavier listeners will find the riffs restrained, and the songs ask for little beyond a good chorus.
