Coward Kill Coward is a New Jersey industrial sludge trio whose music explores the bleak territory between extreme metal, industrial noise and crushing low tempo heaviness. Released through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions, “I Am Not A Fighter, I Will Fail” marks the band’s arrival on the label, presenting a deeply personal approach to extreme music. Across five extended tracks, the trio channels themes of mental struggle, inferiority and emotional collapse into a sound built on dissonance, oppressive textures and a deliberate rejection of conventional song structures. The band’s musical territory shares common ground with the bleak intensity of Primitive Man, Body Void and Godflesh, while the influence of industrial noise and experimental music pushes its approach beyond standard sludge metal.

“I Am Not A Fighter, I Will Fail” runs for around an hour, using slow, crushing riffs, abrasive industrial textures and extended compositions to create an atmosphere of persistent psychological distress. “Please I'm Trying My Hardest I Swear” establishes the record’s bleak tone, while “Failure” stretches its ideas across a lengthy arrangement that tests the listener’s patience through sustained repetition and dissonance. “Tired”, the album’s longest track, pushes this approach further, relying on oppressive sonic layers and gradual changes instead of conventional hooks or melodic release. The production reinforces the music’s suffocating atmosphere, placing the emphasis on raw texture and overwhelming low end.

The main limitation lies in the songwriting, as extended sections can become stagnant when changes in rhythm and texture are too sparse to justify their duration. The uncompromising approach has a clear artistic direction, though the lack of variation across such lengthy tracks reduces the impact of the material. “I Am Not A Fighter, I Will Fail” offers a bleak exercise in industrial sludge and noise, with its most effective moments coming from the tension between oppressive sound and exposed emotional distress.
