Zivanished was formed by brothers Louis Syrimis on guitar and vocals, and Constantinos Syrimis on drums, with the aim of creating an extreme metal sound rooted in Cypriot culture and language. The project began with Louis recording "Sto Horkon" in 2009 and "Kafkas" in 2011, the latter helping the band reach its first live performance that same year. Miguel Trapezaris later joined, completing the line-up in 2015.
All three members are also involved with Infected Syren and have been active in Cyprus's metal scene since the late 1990s. Their music combines thrash, groove, death metal, hardcore and punk, with Greek and Middle Eastern influences, occasional bouzouki and lyrics delivered entirely in the Cypriot dialect. Their releases include two EPs and a full length album, while their live shows have taken them beyond Cyprus, including performances alongside Septicflesh and Assassin.
"100% Αγνός Κυπριακός Βίλλος" ("100% Pure Cypriot Cock") puts the band's local roots at the centre of its musical approach, mixing aggressive guitar work, shouted vocals, growls and black humour across its extreme metal blend. The Cypriot dialect gives the lyrics a strong regional flavour, while the combination of thrash riffs, hardcore aggression and Mediterranean musical elements separates the EP from standard genre fare. "Ο Βίλλος Μου Εν Μιάλος" ("O Villos Mou En Mialos") takes the experimental side further, pushing the band's unusual mix into territory where musical aggression and absurd humour meet.
Recorded and produced at Syren Blast, Louis Syrimis's studio, the release retains a raw, independent character that suits its irreverent approach. The mix of local references, crude humour and extreme metal gives the EP a specific cultural angle, although listeners unfamiliar with the Cypriot dialect may miss part of the lyrical humour. "100% Αγνός Κυπριακός Βίλλος" is an eccentric and culturally rooted release that places regional expression at the centre of its music.
