Formed in the underground of Transylvania back in 2020, Putred has been churning out pure old-school sickness. Singing entirely in the Romanian language, they focus entirely on the macabre, death, and the occult. They keep things mid-paced and heavy, avoiding hyper-speed shredding for down-tuned riffing and guttural vocals. The quintet delivers straight-up extreme metal worship, raw and untamed.
With "Blestemul Din Adânc", the band unleashes a massive dose of graveyard filth. The guitars sound like they were recorded in a damp tomb, laying down slow-moving riffs that smash everything in their path. The rhythm section keeps a steady, pounding groove going, letting the monstrous vocals spew out tales of the afterlife and black magic. The whole album creates a suffocating atmosphere that drags you down into the dirt.
Songs like "Devorat De Întuneric" display what Putred is all about. The music drags you into a deep pit with slow, hypnotic riffing. Forget technical wankery; Putred relies on primitive, neck-snapping grooves. They even throw in a savage take on Benediction's "Subconscious Terror", proving their roots run deep into the early nineties underground. Everything fits together to create an oppressive wall of sound.
The audio production fits the music perfectly. Recorded in Romania and mastered in London, the final mix is dripping with rot. The guitars roar with a filthy distortion, the bass rumbles underneath like an earthquake, and the drums pound with maximum force. The vocals are mixed right where they belong, echoing like ancient curses from a dark cave. It sounds authentically old-school, entirely avoiding modern triggered plastic garbage.
"Blestemul Din Adânc" is a proper underground death metal release. Putred brings massive riffs and a sick horror vibe to the table. Fans of primitive, slow-paced extreme metal will devour this album. The Transylvanian crew delivers real-deal death metal that destroys the skull and leaves a trail of corpses behind. Get the vinyl or cassette (old-school traditions), turn the volume to the max, and let the darkness take over.
