Lamb Of God exploded out of the Richmond, Virginia underground in the late nineties under the name Burn The Priest. Over the ensuing decades, they forged a massive legacy as absolute titans of modern American heavy metal. Their blend of vicious thrash and earth-shaking grooves turned albums like "As The Palaces Burn" and "Sacrament" into mandatory listening for true headbangers worldwide. Operating entirely on their own terms, they return with their tenth full-length offering, "Into Oblivion". The band operates as unstoppable veterans owing zero apologies to anyone.

Producer Josh Wilbur handled the console duties for "Into Oblivion", assembling the songs from three different studios across the United States. The drums got tracked at The Bakery in Richmond. Guitars and bass were laid down at Mark Morton’s personal studio. The vocals were tracked at Total Access in California. This multi-studio approach brings a massive sound, capturing the musicians locking into absolute, focused aggression. The thirty-nine minutes of playing time rip past your ears at maximum velocity.

Lyrically, the album tackles the rapid breakdown of the American social contract. The words target sheep surrendering personal responsibility and begging for false saviors to fix their pathetic problems. Musically, "Into Oblivion" delivers the relentless groove these veterans are famous for. The riffs on "Parasocial Christ" and "Sepsis" charge forward with vicious intent. The rhythms lock into an infectious swing, driving the anger straight into your skull.

"The Killing Floor" and "Blunt Force Blues" offer prime examples of their destructive musical formula. The rhythm section maintains an iron grip on the tempo. The guitars dominate the sonic landscape with savage precision. "St. Cathrine’s Wheel" brings a darker atmosphere to the tracklist. The drumming hits with concussive force. Every riff lands perfectly on target. The vocal delivery spits intense fury over the top of the instrumentation.

Lamb Of God deliver top-tier metal on "Into Oblivion". The band provides an unrelenting assault of groove metal. They maintain their throne at the top of the metal food chain. You will definitely snap your neck headbanging to these tracks. The Richmond natives still possess absolute fire in their veins. "Into Oblivion" demands maximum volume on your speakers.
