North Carolina has given birth to a fair share of deranged underground acts, and Night Attack falls right into that lineage. Emerging from the state’s darkest corners, the band unleashed "Necromancer", an EP that carries traditional thrash menace. Channeling the spirit of early Death, Sepultura, Possessed, and Kreator while maintaining a sharp thrash edge reminiscent of Megadeth, this third official release is their most aggressive offering. Featuring members of Vesterian and Ancestral Blood, Night Attack captures the urgency of late ’80s blackened death thrash. The production provides a raw mix that gives their craft the violence it requires to avoid modern trends.
This EP kills from the very first second. Night Attack doesn’t give a shit about trends. "Necromancer" offers four tracks of lethal thrash metal injected with a heavy dose of death metal violence. The guitar work relies on fast, precise riffing and solos that sound like a total assault. The drumming provides a relentless pace, maintaining speed without dropping the intensity for even a second.
The vocals are aggressive and raw, spewing occult themes with hatred. The overall production keeps the sound authentic, avoiding the overproduced trap that ruins so many modern underground releases. It sounds lethal, dark, and lethal enough to please anyone who worships late '80s extreme metal. The songwriting focuses on straightforward aggression, relying on strong riffs and unrelenting speed to get the job done. Night Attack delivered a highly effective release that honors the old underground traditions.
