Racimo was formed in Chile and has been active for two decades, building its name through a rock sound rooted in heavy riffs, social reflection and Spanish-language expression. The line-up on "Landing" is Roy Sandoval on vocals, Esteban Cataldo on guitar, Felipe Ahumada on bass and Manuel Bastías on drums. After "Flying" in 2022, the band returns with its fourth studio album, bringing the story back to a more grounded, bitter and human place.
"Landing" is an album with a clear social pulse. Racimo deal with crisis, survival, personal struggle and the daily mess of modern life, without dressing it up as poetry for the sake of it. The songs have a firm rock base, melodic lines, enough heaviness to give the album shape and a vocal approach that stays close to the message. It is not a record made for decoration, it speaks plainly and often with a worn, tense character.
The production gives the album a full and rounded sound, with the guitars upfront, the rhythm section steady and the vocals placed where they should be. "Sobrevivir" gives a good first taste of the album’s direction, focused on a near-death experience and the mental reset that comes with facing the edge. The rest of "Landing" follows the same path, dealing with human damage, reaction and reflection through songs that are easy to follow and built with care.
The album’s main limit is that some parts stay too safe. Racimo have experience, and you can hear it, although a few moments could have used more risk, more tension and less comfort. The songwriting is honest and the message is clear, so the album avoids sounding empty. At the same time, it does not always leave a deep mark after it ends.
"Landing" is a good album from a band that has its language and knows how to use it. It has heart, direction and enough substance to deserve attention, even if it lacks the extra spark needed for a higher score. Racimo return with a mature release, grounded in real-world concerns and shaped with respect for the listener’s time.
