Rock Justice is a new Dutch hard rock and heavy metal band built around vocalist Maggy Luyten and guitarist Bas Maas, musicians with long histories in the European metal scene. Luyten is known from Ayreon, Beautiful Sin, The Prize and her years with Nightmare, bringing a powerful voice shaped by classic heavy metal and hard rock. Maas spent years with After Forever and later joined Doro, building his reputation as a dependable guitarist with a strong ear for classic riff writing. Bassist Nick McGrath and drummer Mischa Aussems complete the lineup, giving the band an old school rhythm section that stays rooted in groove. Although this is their first album together, the musicians involved have enough experience to write songs without chasing trends or modern studio tricks. Their goal is simple, classic hard rock with a heavy metal edge, drawing inspiration from the late seventies and eighties.

"You’ve Been Served" sticks to familiar ground from beginning to end, built around crunchy riffs, memorable choruses and straightforward songwriting. Bas Maas produced the album, Maggy Luyten handled the co production, while Luca Princiotta mixed and mastered it, giving everything a warm and organic sound with enough power for the heavier moments. The guitars stay at the center, supported by a rhythm section that plays with restraint. Maggy Luyten’s voice shifts comfortably between melodic hard rock and traditional heavy metal, giving these songs far more character than the riffs alone could provide. The guest appearance from Doro Pesch on "First In Line" is a welcome addition and closes the album on an energetic note without stealing attention from the band itself.

The songwriting is a mixed bag. When the hooks connect, Rock Justice sounds energetic and convincing, especially on the faster material where the riffs and vocal lines complement each other. There are several moments that stay in your head after the album ends, helped by choruses that are easy to remember. A few riffs pass by without leaving much of an impression and some choruses aim for big arena moments without reaching that level.

The better songs have energy, memorable vocal lines and riffs that stick, while the less inspired moments settle into comfortable patterns that many listeners will have heard countless times before. The old school approach remains honest throughout the album, helped by production that stays dynamic instead of flattening everything into the same volume. Rock Justice has laid a solid foundation with "You've Been Served". It is an album built for listeners who miss classic hard rock mixed with traditional heavy metal, performed by experienced musicians. It falls short of being consistently memorable across its full running time, though it offers enough strong material to make this debut a satisfying introduction to the band.
