Magic Opera is an Italian neoclassical and symphonic power metal project centered on the fantasy world of Amtork. "The Final Flight" is the third and concluding chapter of the trilogy, following "The Golden Pentacle" and "Battle Of Ice". Anton Darusso handles vocals, with Marco Garau on keyboards and orchestrations, Matteo Baschiera on rhythm guitars, Luca Sellitto on lead guitars, Salvatore Giordano on drums and Ollie Bernstein on bass. The project closes its trilogy with a large scale fantasy story involving kingdoms, dragons, magic, betrayal and the search for the Black Gem.

"The Final Flight" leans heavily on orchestral arrangements, neoclassical keyboard work and melodic power metal, creating a grand fantasy atmosphere throughout its roughly one hour of music. The production is handled independently, with mixing and mastering by Lars Rettkowitz at Emperial Sound Studio, while Ivan Zanchetta provides the artwork. The music follows the events of Amtork with a strong cinematic approach, placing the orchestra alongside guitars, keyboards and vocals to support the scale of the story.

The songwriting is ambitious and packed with dramatic transitions, melodic themes and symphonic detail. At times the amount of orchestral material pushes the music toward soundtrack territory, though the metal foundation remains present. As the final chapter of the trilogy, the album gives the story a suitably dramatic conclusion, with its strongest impact coming from the combination of fantasy atmosphere, melodic metal and orchestral arrangements.
