Electric Python is a Nashville, Tennessee band formed in 2019 by singer and guitarist Jeff Hime, with bassist Bingham Barnes, drummer Chris Fox and guitarist Todd Farrell Jr. completing the current lineup. The band works within a classic heavy metal and hard rock approach, bringing together big guitar work, prominent bass, forceful drumming and a strong taste for horror, crime and late night excess. Their first full length album, "Into The Night", appeared in 2020, establishing the direction that now continues on "Speed Demon". The Nashville scene is an important part of the band’s story, with Electric Python presenting its music through a raw, club oriented heavy metal attitude and a visual style built around denim, guitars, demons and old school rock imagery.

"Speed Demon" runs for half an hour and packs nine songs into a compact, fast moving release. The production gives the guitars plenty of presence, with the bass sitting firmly underneath the riffs and the drums maintaining a strong rhythmic push. Jeff Hime’s vocals suit the material, adding a rough heavy metal edge across songs such as "Late Night Dynamite", "Smoking Gun", "Speed Demon" and "Last Chance". The guitar work is a major part of the album, with solo sections and twin lead arrangements adding classic metal color throughout.

The songwriting stays focused on riffs, hooks and energetic arrangements, while the lyrics move through crime, whiskey, violence, demons and nocturnal themes. "Speed Demon" has enough variation between its hard driving passages and melodic guitar moments to avoid becoming one dimensional. The result is a straightforward Nashville heavy metal album with a strong classic rock foundation and a distinctly barroom atmosphere.
