Formed in Sweden in 2020, 10,000 Years has released three albums in a short period, establishing a sound rooted in stoner metal, heavy riffing and psychedelic elements. Their 2024 album "All Quiet On The Final Frontier" marked their first release through Ripple Music and expanded the band's approach with more melodic material. The lineup features Erik Palm on guitars, Alex Risberg on bass and vocals, and Alvin Risberg on drums. Their second album, "II", also earned a nomination for Best Metal at the Swedish Independent Grammys, adding another notable point to a discography that has developed quickly since the band's formation.

"Esox Lucifer" runs at 35 minutes and was produced by the band, with Erik Palm handling the engineering. The drums were recorded at Studio Fluff in Västerås, while the rest of the album came together at Pine Hill Studios. Robert Lamu handled the mix and Magnus "Devo" Andersson the mastering, resulting in a production focused on guitars, bass, drums and vocals. The songwriting moves between heavy stoner riffs, psychedelic passages and melodic hooks, with the

lyrics drawing on existential dread, horror, science fiction and fantasy imagery. Tracks such as "Pursuit Special", "Fleur De Sledgehammer", "Alien Tactics" and the title track give the album its central character, while the Swedish band's riff-focused approach remains present throughout. "Esox Lucifer" is a focused and effective stoner metal album with enough variety to avoid becoming monotonous, and its compact length helps the material remain engaging.
