Minipony are an Ecuadorian band formed by Emilia Moncayo on vocals, samples and synth, Amadeus Galiano on guitar, bass and percussion, and Carlos Sanchez on drums. Their music brings together extreme metal, technical structures and electronic elements, with Latin influences adding another layer to their approach. The band has performed across Latin America and Europe, sharing stages with Meshuggah and touring with Fear Factory. Their appearances at events such as 70,000 Tons Of Metal, Hell And Heaven Fest, and Summer Breeze have also placed them in front of wider international audiences.

"Detach" is the third studio release from Minipony and presents a mix of technical metal, mathcore and djent, with electronic textures and Latin rhythmic ideas running through the material. The guitars are low tuned and tightly arranged, while the drums add intricate rhythmic changes around Emilia Moncayo’s guttural vocals and synth work. The production was recorded at Borgo 41 Studio in Ecuador by Amadeus Galiano and mixed by Jamie Uertz, whose credits include Gojira’s "Magma".

The sound gives the instruments a modern presentation, with the electronic elements integrated into the metal arrangements. "Detach" is a compact release with a demanding musical approach and several contrasting textures packed into its short format. Minipony present technical material with a strong electronic component and Latin touches that separate the release from more standard djent and mathcore formulas. The result is an intense and highly intricate record that asks for attention to its rhythmic shifts and layered arrangements.
